Who we are
Small Home Source (smallhomesource.com) is a directory of tiny-home, ADU, and small-housing builders and related services. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@smallhomesource.com.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and password (stored hashed) when you register or claim a listing.
- Listing information — the business details you submit for publication (name, description, address, photos, and whichever public contact details you choose to display), plus a private contact email and phone number used only by us to reach you about your listing. The private fields are never published.
- Payment information — payments for listing plans are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. We keep records of which plan you purchased and its payment status.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting, and cookies required for logging in and keeping your session.
How we use it
- To operate the directory: publish listings, process claims, and manage plans and payments.
- To contact you about your account or listing — moderation decisions, payment issues, or changes that affect you.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing.
- WP Engine — website hosting, where all site data is stored.
- Authorities, if required by law.
The public parts of a listing are, by design, visible to anyone on the internet.
How long we keep it
Account and listing data is kept while your account or listing is active. Payment records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. If you close your account, we remove or anonymize personal data that we are not legally required to keep.
Your rights
You can view and edit your listing and account details from your dashboard. You can ask us to export or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@smallhomesource.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law (such as the GDPR or the CCPA), and we will honor valid requests.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the site or emailed to account holders.
